Slash, Now Producing Horror Films

Slash admits that he is into horror films. So it is no surprise that he is now into producing one. Following in the footsteps of musician turned filmmaker Rob Zombie, Slash is starting his own production company. In association with Scout Productions (of films like Transsiberian and Fog of War), Slash has set up the aptly named Slasher Films banner to produce edgy contemporary horror fare with a nod to the thrillers of the 70's and 80's. Their first project has already been lined up with Nothing to Fear, a horror/thriller following a family as it looks for a big change by moving to a small town in rural Kansas only to encounter an ancient demon with an insatiable blood lust.

Jonathan W.C. Mills wrote the screenplay which should begin shooting early next year, but a director hasn't been revealed just yet. Here's what Slash had to say about his new endeavor, "I've always been a huge horror fan and creating films that take you back to the days where horror movies actually scared the hell out of you is something I've always wanted to do. My audience is made up of young, edgy, discerning consumers, with an appetite for quality and a hint of anarchy." That's what way to put it, I guess. Though I'm not a fan of the horror genre, I've found some decent throwback horror flicks like House of the Devil to be quite good. It'll be interesting to see if Slash can bring together the right talent for some fresh horror.

What's Up with ABS CBN channel 2?

I can't help it. I've been thinking for the past few weeks if I should write something about this. Well, at first, I said that I'll just let it go. But I just can't stand it. What's going on ABS CBN channel 2???

Have you seen the movie "Avatar"? How about that hit musical TV series "Glee"? And who doesn't know the movie "Twilight"? So what's the problem? Here's the problem. ABS CBN made TV series similar to these movies/shows. They made a tv series called "Noah" which is equivalent to "Avatar". How about this series "Idol". Definitely 100% copycat of "Glee". And their new series, "Imortal". Yup, it's about vampires. Concept taken from Twilight.

Can't they make their own concepts? Why do we need to copy from these movies/shows? Because they were a hit? Here's a tip, why not make an original concept. Something that wasn't shown on the big screen or even on TV. Difficult, but could be worth it. Better yet, lessen these drama series. It's from the afternoon till evening. Maybe bring back some sitcoms. Our own lives is a drama itself so maybe it's time to think away from these drama series. Right?
